Soft tissue dermal fillers are an effective way to enhance lips, lift furrows and grooves, smooth lines around the mouth and restore a youthful resilience to your skin. This safe, non-allergenic treatment provides immediate, natural-looking results. At Skinworks, we offer hyaluronic fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm as well as Sculptra; an injectable material known as poly-L-lactic acid that naturally stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. As an expert in the field, Dr. Jang can recommend the appropriate dermal filler for you. You may be an ideal candidate for facial soft tissue fillers if you are feeling self-conscious about folds and wrinkles on the face and wish to feel more confident about the overall appearance of your skin.

Restylane and Juvéderm
How they work
Restylane is made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a clear gel called NASHA™ or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Juvéderm is a smooth consistency gel also made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Juvéderm injectable gel is eased under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel. In fact, studies show superior results of Juvéderm compared to a collagen-based soft tissue filler.
Recovery
Normal activities can be resumed the day following treatment. Minor swelling and bruising may remain with some patients for a few days.
Results
With Restylane and Juvéderm, the difference in appearance is immediately evident. Lips are fuller, acne scars are reduced and smile lines and wrinkles are less evident. Depending on your skin, lifestyle and age, you may choose to have a touch-up treatment within a year. As the face ages further, the skin will continue to change. Untreated and treated wrinkles may naturally deepen, requiring some additional injections over the years.
Sculptra
How it works
Derived from fruity acids, Sculptra is a soft tissue filler made from poly-L-lactic acid which naturally stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. Referred to as a "facelift in a bottle", Sculptra is a unique, non-invasive option that offers a natural, gradual, long lasting way to rejuvenate the skin with results that can last two years or longer. By correcting skin depressions in areas such as the temples, eye rings, cheeks, folds around the nose and lips, marionette lines, and chin, Dr. Jang can literally sculpt your face by restoring its natural contours and smoothing out wrinkles, creases, and folds. It is also excellent for use on aging hands.
Preparation and Treatment
No skin pre-testing is required and the number of treatment sessions you require will depend on various factors such as your age, how deep your wrinkles are and which areas you wish to treat.
Recovery
Following treatment you may experience mild soreness, swelling, and/or minor bruising in the treatment areas for a few hours up to a few days after treatment. Make-up can be applied within a few hours of treatment. Following your Sculptra treatment, massaging of treated areas is necessary to allow for the even distribution of the product and to ensure natural-looking results.
Results
This non-invasive option offers a natural, gradual, long lasting way to rejuvenate the skin with results that can last two years or longer. A natural looking fullness will slowly appear within two treatment sessions at which time your skin will start to reveal a more youthful appearance. As the production of new collagen formation is gradual, further treatments will yield results that are more noticeable. Generally, Sculptra is injected in three to four treatment sessions at four to six week intervals over the period of a few months. During this time unwanted deep lines and wrinkles gradually diminish as the skin firms up as a result of the production of your own collagen.
