Turn back the clock and restore youthfulness to your skin with IPL Photorejuvenation. This light technology minimizes brown spots, sun damage, fine wrinkles, and enlarged pores. It smoothes the skin and significantly improves redness caused by aging, rosacea, and acne scarring. Dr. Frances Jang of Skinworks was one of the first professionals to offer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photorejuvenation in the Lower Mainland, and her years of experience will make you feel both confident and safe.
How it works
IPL Photorejuvenation is unique because it simultaneously erases skin damage while improving skin tone and texture. Prior to treatment, an anaesthetic cream and cooling gel is applied to the skin to minimize discomfort. Each laser pulse lasts less than half a second, causing a small sting and warming sensation.
A series of 30-minute treatments are performed every few weeks to ensure you have little or no downtime. You can usually return to all activity within one hour of treatment.
While the degree of improvement depends on the patient and number of treatments, IPL Photorejuvenation can improve skin texture and diminish age spots, sun damage and redness by as much as 50 to 75 percent. Once your treatments are complete, Dr. Jang offers advice on how to preserve the renewed health and youthfulness of your skin.
Also, Photodynamic Therapy with IPL
Photodynamic Therapy is the combination of light and light sensitive agents to target specific areas on the skin. It is used to treat acne as well as actinic keratoses, or AKs, pre-cancerous lesions. The Levulan PDT system is an advanced 2-step treatment for minimally to moderately thick AKs of the face or scalp.
During the first-step, a light-sensitive agent is applied to the skin using the Levulan® Kerastick®. The solution absorbs into the skin over 14 to 18 hours. At the second step, a specific wavelength of IPL is directed toward the target tissue. The target skin cells are destroyed, allowing for replacement by new, healthy skin cells.
