About the procedure
Dr. Carr removes excess skin and fat through incisions on the upper and/or lower eyelids. Excess fat can be moved from one area to another to fill hollows or troughs within the eyelid area as necessary. All incisions follow the natural contour of the eyelid and lash line to ensure that they are well camouflaged. The procedure takes about two to four hours to perform under local anaesthesia in our private operating room, and you will be able to recuperate at home afterwards. Depending on your unique situation, this surgery can be combined with resurfacing Erbium lasers, chemical peels, and/or Botox to help you achieve flawless results in the delicate eye area.
What to expect during recovery
The mild discomfort that follows this procedure is easily controlled with ice and medication. Sutures are removed within a few days, and you can wear makeup and contact lenses again within a week. Keep activity light to help minimize bruising and swelling, and you will be able to resume normal activities within ten to fourteen days.
What you’ll look like afterwards
Your eyes will look refreshed and more youthful. The skin surrounding your eye will be firm and smooth. Best of all, you won’t look so tired!
